GOSPEL: Luke 13:22-30.
"Strive to enter through the narrow door!!!"
Dear friends,
In the gospel, Jesus answers a very difficult question: Sir, will there be only a few saved? His response was very simple, smart and of course, an intelligent one, “Strive to enter through the narrow door!!! Through this, Christ reminds us that the invitation to His Feast is open to all. However, each person must struggle to be there. We must do what we have do by playing our roles well. This is the only way we can be guaranteed a place in the feast of the Kingdom of God.
Luke’s Gospel today reminds us: “Strive to enter through the narrow door.” We must strive to love God above all things, with all of our being. And we must strive to love our neighbors as ourselves. There is always hope as we keep on striving. It is when we stop striving and stop seeking God that the way forward begins to block us. So we can think of the message of this Sunday as encouragement to keep on striving to be faithful to God, even when we can see and know our own failures. Yes...! You and I are far from perfect, but God Himself is telling us: Do not give up hope! Trust in the Lord always.
We are therefore called to be Loving (CARITAS), focused and disciplined in order to be part of the great gathering of the saints. May the Lord draw us to Himself and give us courage to walk in His ways. The last thing we want to hear is God saying to us, “Well done, my good and faithful servant…Come, share your master’s joy.”
God Bless,
