“If we walk in the light as he is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another…” – 1 John 1:7
Dear Readers and Friends of CARITAS,
Thank you for following the Reflections of CARITAS blog. For more than two and a half years you and I have journeyed together through the Scriptures and weekly Mass readings. I hope that these reflections have consoled you, challenged you, and helped you fall more in love with the One who is Love.
The Reflections of CARITAS are coming to an end, at least for the foreseeable future, but let us be confident that God’s love and mercy endure forever (Ps. 136). During this Christmas season we celebrate the unquenchable Light of Christ, who descended from heaven to dispel the darkness of our world. Therefore, let us continue to “live as children of the light” (Ephesians 5:8) until the Radiant Dawn, the Son of Justice, “breaks forth to shine on those who sit in darkness and death’s shadow, to guide our feet into the way path of peace” (Luke 1:79).
On this Feast of the Holy Innocents, I think of all the young children in need around the world, especially those who are part of the CARITAS family. Thank you for welcoming these boys and girls into your hearts and your lives, just as Mary and Joseph once did for the Infant Jesus.
I pray that the Christ Child, our Newborn King, may bless you now and always.
Sincerely,
Kollin Petrie

Loving Father, lead us out of darkness and into the glorious light of Your love. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
